4 Crystal Clear Reasons Why Men Must Not Wear Casual Styles Too Often

Wearing casual styles as a man is not a bad thing but realistically, casual styles when it comes to serious business and work  opportunities, they don’t look convincing at all in the eyes of successful people who want to work with you.

Men have different tastes when it comes to style, some adore casual styles such as street style or fashion trends yet others are comfortable wearing formal styles like business formal dress code.

This blog post will list and give a detailed explanation about the reasons why men must not wear casual styles seven days a week.

1. Casual styles in formal industries don’t look professional

The formal industries are those that are under the supervision of government and they include: banking, administration, healthcare, education, military, manufacturing and so on. Men who work in such formal sectors that include benefits like retirement plans, pension funds and access to medical aid usually dress formally. Hence, suits and formal apparel are worn by such men compared to informal sectors that don’t have great benefits or a fixed wage hence such men in these sectors(Private sectors for example) usually dress casually depending on the environment since others have work uniforms suitable for working.

Employers usually regard men who wear proper work uniforms with their name tags as professional men who are organized and competent at work. 2. Casual styles don’t nail first impressions during big interviews

According to a website that contains the style quotes for men to live by, one says “Clothes don’t make a man but clothes have got many a man a good job” by Herbert H. Vreeland and indeed good clothes like suits and formal apparel ensure you develop self esteem and confidence in the interview.

3. Casual styles can look a big sloppy (Especially if you wear sagging jeans)

It sounds harsh but this is the truth. Casuals styles do look sloppy and not as straight as a ruler because some men wear saggy jeans that reveal the underwear and they think it looks cool but it does not, it is off putting. Teenagers should heed to this advice and know that sagging jeans are public indecency.

4. Casual styles are not respected when attending key events(Graduations for example) compared to formal styles

Imagine your son has passed matric or his course at a prestigious University with flying colors and then comes the day of celebrating his hard work and effort, does it seem appropriate to wear casual jeans, hoodie and a T-shirt on such a big day? The answer is NO because the outfit is not ideal for a big event such as a Graduation ceremony where other young people will be dressed sharp to the nines.

Therefore, for parents to be respected and honored at a graduation ceremony for the effort applied by their educated children, men must have a special good looking fitted suit and a necktie because a tie is the first serious step in life as Oscar Wilde said.

Conclusion

  • Casual styles don’t look professional in formal industries
  • Casual styles can appear sloppy
  • Casual styles don’t nail first impressions at interviews
  • Casual styles are not respected at formal events like graduations(Events like these mean a new chapter has emerged)

  1. I agree. I think men can get away with a semi-casual style, like jeans that fit with a blazer or something.

  2. Casual styles have their place, and can be dressed up with a blazer and nice accessories. But for interviews and special occasions more formal attire is more appropriate.

  3. 🤔 I expect all adult men to know how to dress for every occasion.

The dress code protocol is something that most of us have learned at a very young age.
