Is Dressing Dapper Daily As A Man Worth It?

Dressing dapper is equivalent to dressing in a classy, neat and elegant way. According to my perspective, dressing dapper is worth it everyday as a man because it makes a man dress better. This blog post will look at both sides of dressing dapper as a man and that is of course the good side with its advantages and the bad side with its disadvantages.

The good side of dressing dapper and its advantages

Business formal and business casual dress codes not only are they dapper but they command respect

This is the advantage of dressing dapper as a man and that is respect is commanded. People tend to respect a man who looks dapper and neat than one who looks like he lives like a pig and a pig generally loves being dirty. Men have two options when planning to look dapper or even yet showing enthusiasm to dress dapper daily and those options are to go for a business casual outfit or a business formal. Business casual is a dress code that strikes a balance between casual and formal, meaning it is a neat style that requires no formality and too much sharp dressed styles like a 3 piece suit. A blazer like a sports jacket or a tweed jacket or a solid blazer in grey will match with jeans or chino pants and boots that completes the business casual style that is relaxed yet dapper in a casual manner.

On the other hand, opting for a business formal dress code requires a man to drop the casual pieces and wear formal pieces that are dapper such as the neckties which symbolize order and nobility. A man can dress dapper in business formal by investing in a necktie, a suit and dress shirts in a variety of colors such as black, blue, grey, brown and white. Believe me, going for either one of these dress codes, enables a man to gain respect even from those of the higher class because you dress like them.

Dressing dapper is appropriate for formal functions

Functions are events and shows that happen in a particular venue and formal events like dinners, award ceremonies, weddings and graduations require a man to dress dapper. Dapper outfits are suitable for reasons such as these and most event posters have a specific dress codes required for that event. Those event planners usually develop a theme for all the attendees to follow and the formal functions state strictly formal, smart casual or in this case dapper outfits.

The bad side of dressing dapper with its disadvantages

Dressing dapper is an obsession that can be very hard to break in the long run

Recently, I published a blog post dubbed “WHY BEING OBSESSED WITH FASHION & STYLE IS A BAD THING FOR MEN?. That blog post undoubtedly explains the side effects of obsession and that can affect your mental health and drive you mad. The same can be said about dressing dapper as a man, it can affect your mindset because you will be thinking about dapper outfits leading you to a point of debt because you will borrow money just to keep that obsession of buying clothes and gratification alive. Thus, dressing dapper 4 days a week for example is normal because dapper is not required during casual weekends and informal events.

Dressing dapper needs a man to folk out money to maintain it

This is similar to the above point but the difference here it is that a man in the working class can go broke whilst trying to maintain the style that is expensive in some clothing stores. Hence, a man needs to wear dapper outfits when required and not waste money by digging deep in his pockets to use that cash to purchase dapper and elegant pieces such as hats, ties, suits and bowties as well as blazers. Reckless spending on clothes is a bad thing and for some men it is not worth it if it means maintaining the standard of dapper.

Therefore, based on how you look at both sides, some men can say it is worth it judging by the advantages and some may say, it is not worth it dressing dapper judging by the disadvantages.
