Dress shirts are formal actually hence they are normally worn with suits, jackets and sometimes by themselves. Men no doubt have one pair of dress shirt their closet and this shirt outnumbers the majority of shirts that are sold out there. Dress shirts are affordable

This is one logical reason why men wear dress shirts more than polo shirts, that is, they are affordable. Also, this shirt is made from cotton thus extremely breathable , soft on the skin and lightweight.

Polo shirts are not ideal for formal wear

That is true, polo shirts are casual actually and they don’t match with formal pieces. A short sleeve polo shirt doesn’t fit the meaning of the word “Formal” which means elegant, proper and accurate as well as dignified. A dress shirt is formal by nature thus I recommend men to continue purchasing this shirt because it looks proper with other formal pieces such as belts , dress shoes and formal pants as well as suits. Polo shirts have two to three buttons and come in different colors. This shirt is casual by nature and not every man has the luxury of buying this shirt due to its price tag that can cost some an arm and a leg.

Dress shirts will never go out of style

Dress shirts are classy, they have been around for centuries and back then such shirts were called or referred to as vintage shirts. The vintage era is one that dates back to the 80s of 90s. Men would wear vests with this dress shirt and classy hats like the flapcap or newsboy and their briefcases which we don’t see often in nowadays. Dress shirts are what you call classic shirts and for good reason, one being they stand the test of time.

Dress shirts can be worn with a necktie polo shirts cannot

This is one reason dress shirts beat or outnumber polo shirts in terms of formality and that is it can be worn with a necktie. A white dress shirt with a solid tie or a tie with patterns looks very neat and organized compared to a polo shirt that doesn’t need a tie because it was not designed for that dressing style. Even lawyers or people in the corporate industry wear a necktie with a dress shirt to project a professional identity and to be taken seriously. Hence, little or naked people have no influence in society.
