Men use emotions too when purchasing clothes whether empirical evidence is there or not

Emotions are a part and parcel of a human spirit. Men are also emotional beings and they too do have patterns in emotions when it comes to purchasing decisions such as asking themselves will this outfit make me look fat, muscular or handsome? Reading this book by Jeb Blount titled “People Buy You”, has actually challenged my thoughts on the matter and why the contents of this book are related to men’s clothing. Happiness and sadness occurs in both men ad women even in peculiar things such as clothes.

Emotions take over when buying clothes

Every human being on this planet has emotions and most of the time what we buy it is driven first by emotion before action takes place. Stepping inside a men’s clothing store and seeing all the outfits on display influences your emotions one way or the other. Your facial expression when you smile that is says a lot about that item that made you happy to buy it. Jeb Blount in his book exclaims that “People buy you first and they buy from close friends”, in other words, he is saying first impressions matter and people buy your personality. Also, he talks about the first five letters of people buy you such as building trust, be likable and solve problems as well as other remaining 2 letters. Despite strong evidence such ad statistics, facts and findings emotions will always take over not only in buying clothes but also in other areas of life such as Friendships, Relationships , family and careers people will always buy based on the likes and love of it which all falls under emotions.

Imagine if people dispel your sense of style that would hurt your emotions

Indeed there are people who would despise, criticise and hate your sense of style that would cause a great gap and emotional scar. Yes clothes are just clothes but humans use even the tiniest thing to make your day sour and dispel against you. Not everyone will love what you wear, others will be jealous and others will be joyful and happy to see you dress well. However, as we humans differ in thinking and action others may care less what others think of their style and dress code, others may be very hurt and emotional whilst others will simply take emotions out of the picture and be strong.
