The golden rule that is a norm in the field of business, entrepreneurship and negotiations platform, it is “SHOW UP AND BE ON TIME”, this rule here is the core fundamental of getting business done and being successful whist conducting business. Professions such as Receptionists, Lawyers, Managers, Librarians, Directors, Event Planners and other related industries utilize this rule here to get tasks done. What about the field of fashion and style? Is there actually a golden rule there? Well you don’t have to follow the rule per say but you do need to know it because it reflect the way you are perceived in society and that rule is ” DRESS UP AND BE ON TIME ”
Yes this rule here is very profound and knowing it can go a long way to making your dreams of being a: Fashion Designer, Fashion Model, Stylist, Fashion Blogger, Fashion Editor, Makeup Artist, Hairdresser or Purchasing Manager a reality.
Dress up as if you are attending a key fashion show now
Besides always trying to look the part, the clothes you wear convinces a person a mile away before you even talk to them. For example, a Lawyer should always wear a suit when going to court, during a deposition, during a trial or a bail hearing, if that Lawyer is not wearing the right uniform of armor, the client and even the judge will not tolerate this and it will seem that Lawyer is not keen on winning the case for his or her client. The judge will end up tossing the case because the attorney looks unprofessional (wears a Jean in court yet a Lawyer for example) and that client will lose the case. Hence the importance of always putting your best foot forward when dressing up.
The same can be said about the field of fashion and style, you can’t go to a Fashion Show that will have the media such as the press, reporters, photographers and journalists wearing a sleeping gown, it is neither cool nor fashionable. One of the most prominent fashion shows globally such as Louis Vuitton Fashion Show and SA Fashion Week are one of the biggest events in the industry thus even the garments are designed by experienced fashion designers with an eye for Good cloth. Even if you don’t have the means to buy a designer suit, rather wear your favorite style and outfit and most key when attending such show’s be on time, it shows that you respect the time and the event
As my mentor used to say when I was working for the first time for a local clothing brand and company, speed is everything in this business.
Use this golden rule in other areas of your life other than business and fashion
Yes this rule does apply to other spaces in your life because there is more to life than working rapidly and being on time for the business side of things. Use this rule when meeting with friends, family, relatives and long lost pals if you are a social person. I have used this rule even with my friends, I always dress the part and yes you can’t tell time but I do try to be on time. I make sure I recall that set time early and start preparing my outfit as soon as possible. Also, it is true when they say first impressions matter and an gut who dresses the part actually starts to win the minds and hearts of the people in that building, office , home or community. Again, dressing up doesn’t mean wearing suits but it means wearing fitted clothing, fitted shoes, explore nice outfits , wearing a watch that will help you to be punctual whenever heading out.

I like this piece of advice because it also relates to writing, in that you should always put your best foot forward when putting out all forms of work, because you’ll never know who’s going to see it. I also like that you put in a lot of time and effort in how you dress, even for everyday tasks. Keep up the good posts!

Thank you so much Stuart for that thoughtful comment♥♥👏👏. I do put a lot into dressing well, it is not easy to maintain it but as the rule says ‘never give up’ , push and it will eventually happen and flow freely💯
