Dressing authentic can be described as wearing clothes that are veritable, true and real to that person. It means dressing using your very own clothes instead of mimicking or copying another’s style. There are a plethora of ways men can dress really good without hurting their bank balance or going to extremes such as borrowing to purchase that garment. This blog post will explain 3 ways men can dress authentic.
1. Wear clothes that make you feel good plus happy
This is one way to dress real like your DNA and that is dress clothes that make you feel good and happy. Honestly, no one knows what makes you happy but you so it is only fair to say that you know which items in your wardrobe evoke or rouse happy memories and moments. It may be that day you wore that suit of yours when you graduated from College or University just like myself. I bought a Navy Blue Suit and I loved it, I added some fun details such as tie bar and a waistcoat to dress sharp and I felt overjoyed. Now, you don’t have to dress sharp formally like me to be happy but wear what puts a smile on your face. It can be a white T-shirt, shoes, casual wear, street wear like ripped jeans and hoodies or black tie , suits and casual jackets.
2. Stick to your signature style
This is another way to dress like the real you and that is develop and formulate your own style. It doesn’t have to be a mammoth task because it needs you to wear clothes that compliment your body build and those you adore. The trick is to wear them again and again so that it becomes your signature. A signature cannot be forged or faked because it is your own God given hands. No one can take your handwriting away from you, the same with style. For example, I am a thin man with a beard so my signature style is fitted suit and t-shirts because I always wear that with other pieces in my wardrobe without thinking about it (depending on the weather of course)
3. Wear what you can afford and don’t compete with others
The last reason that helps a man to be authentic is to just live within your means and wear what you can afford as well as dress for yourself and not to compete. Competition is a dream stealer and to be the best dressed man in the crowd is to just rock your own style motto. If casual wear is what you love and what you afford, don’t feel bad for showing off your true self and marketing your own personality, people appreciate authenticity and the real deal. The same goes for all the other dress codes such as black tie, smart casual, whit tie, business formal and business casual.
