Advertising and branding are two sides of the same coin because both are a cornerstone for all advertising and promotional campaigns. An advert such as a commercial that is visible on television usually has a brand embedded on it.
For example, an advert on television such as a new brand like Enzo offering branded shirts for men in different colors(featured on the cover image of this blog) doesn’t just promote the product but the brand says it all about the type of service. Take for example the car insurance adverts. In terms of clothing in menswear, advertisements that take in many forms such as traditional like print on paper and modern such as social media goes along with a brand such as Enzo, Gucci, Hugo Boss and others just to name a few. This blog post will explain the 3 key reasons why advertising and branding are essential tactics for brands related to men’s fashion and menswear.
1. Advertising and branding are good for sales
As a former Sales Executive and Marketing Rep for an advertising agency and clothing brand, I can fairly say that both advertising and branding development are essential as for making sales and meeting targets. To close a sale you must be able to sell with resilience since sales is a volatile field thus pushing and advertising correctly is key by first ensuring that customers needs are met because when you sell your aim is to solve the customer enquiry and also they must benefit from buying your product long term. For example, the product you sell must be of good quality and the message say you are selling branded t-shirts printed “DETERMINATION” must grab your target customers to be able to sell all of them, you need the right advertising tools be it traditional or modern (Although modern promotions are on demand lately, thanks to social media)
Doing so ensures you have sold adequate merchandise of t-shirts and the brand must gave a grabbing message(Just like Nike brand which says “Just do it”✔) that will influence the customer to buy it. People are likely to buy and trust a brand that is advertised correctly than one that has a misleading message.
Also, for newer brands it takes time to make great sales in the market but with digital technology rising where the young crowd is located that brand can go to great heights if advertised correctly.
2. Advertising and branding are great for publicity
The right public relations strategy is guaranteed to ensure that your brand is successful at reaching masses of people. The right PR tools such as print publications like newspapers to interactive media to press releases and events or functions can sway a target audience to support the advertised brand and that will in turn mean you have an audience that has been influenced by the brand be it old or new to take action in supporting your product. For example, brands such as Nike have been successful because of their effective PR strategies and tools in reaching the public.

Not only in menswear do advertising and branding play a pivotal role in achieving goals but also in businesses, organizations, schools, companies, private and public sector, enterprises as well as governments. Each and every thing we see is advertising, the clothes we wear, the phones we use, the food we buy and consume, newspapers, social media and healthcare services and more. Government too uses advertising to influence the public and with its stupendous budget government has the ability to advertise it’s services all over even abroad thanks to digital platforms. All businesses want profit maximization and to reach that margin advertising methods and branding must come aboard. To conclude, I mean think about it, how would you know about the brands in menswear, fashion, music, film, art, sports, organizations, job vacancies and education without advertisements? Besides, advertising goes also along with marketing that is broad business function that includes product research and development.
